polytec Alfresco Doors
Australian-made aluminium-framed doors with 5mm compact laminate inserts. Totally impervious to water, UV stable and salt-air rated. 7-year warranty. Available in Brushed Grey or Black Anodised frames.
Benchtop surface
Smartstone Sintered Benchtops
20mm sintered stone — 100% UV stable, non-porous, fireproof and scratch resistant. The only benchtop material we recommend for Northern Beaches outdoor kitchens. 15-year warranty.

Stainless Steel Hardware
316-grade marine stainless steel hinges and soft-close drawer runners throughout. In a coastal environment, anything less corrodes within 12–18 months.

Council & Development Requirements — Northern Beaches
Most outdoor kitchens on the Northern Beaches do not require a Development Application (DA) if installed within an existing covered alfresco or pergola structure. Under the NSW State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008, kitchen equipment and cabinetry within an existing covered structure is typically exempt development.
If the project includes a new roofed structure, a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) or DA may be required. Northern Beaches Council is the responsible authority for all affected areas (following the 2016 amalgamation of Manly, Pittwater, and Warringah councils).
Properties in bushfire-prone zones may also have additional non-combustible material requirements. We advise all clients on this at the initial site visit — the Smartstone Sintered benchtops and polytec Alfresco doors we specify are non-combustible and BAL-compliant in most cases.
